PEARLWARE PEAFOWL TEAPOT. c.1820.
Decorated in underglaze PRATTWARE type colours, the bird is generaly known as PEAFOWL pattern.Probably produced by one of the potters in the North East rather than Staffordshire. circa 1810-20. The reverse of the teapot has six branches of the same tree, the lid three. Height 6 inch, length 8 inch 21cm. Condition, Hairline crack across base and upside about 1inch, another about 2inch around the body and a very minor hairline down from the rim. All very well, profesionaly restored on the outside.
