BANDED MUG

£250

  BANDED MUG £250
Although extensively damaged this slip decorated Mocha type mug has great appeal. The deep almost orange colour is unusual and very striking, as is the dramatic effect with the two diced engine turned bands . The handle has simple folate terminals. It is produced in creamware rather than a pearlware earthenware so probably dates to the 1790s.

Height 6 inch, 5.3cm. Diameter 4 inch, 10cm

Condition. Grubby, Large crack runs down the side of the handle to the base and then joins another that runs partly around the footrim. Some staining on the base. Another crack runs down the side, branches into two . Total lengths 3 1/2 & 2 inch. There is a crack between the branches. Small chip on rim , another in the crack on the footrim.
