POLE TURNED SPILL VASE / GOBLET

£95

POLE TURNED SPILL VASE / GOBLET £95
Treen at its best a beautiful piece of wood, hand turned on a pole lathe to reveal its colour and grain enhanced with handling over age. Probably a goblet or spill vase it is beautifully turned with flared rim and deep foot rim which is in-turn undercut with the turning point looking like a glass blowers pontil mark. I would thik late 18th Century circa 1790-1800 and I believe it to be turned Ash. Quite light in weight great colour and grain.

Height5 1/2 inches 14 cm.

Condition. All that comes with age. Some chipping and splits in the wood consistent with its age
