ADAMS SPONGEWARE TEABOWL & SAUCER

£125

ADAMS SPONGEWARE TEABOWL & SAUCER £125
A very interesting large tea bowl and saucer that can be attributed to Adams by way of known marked plates in the same pattern. These would date to the end of the 19th century when a teabowl or handleless cup would have been so old fashioned.

The pattern produced by cut sponges in two colours, mauve and green 5 times on the cup and six times on the saucer is framed by matching green lines.

Diameter of saucer 5 3/4 inches 14.5 cm; cup3 3/4 & 10 cm.

Condition, used, some staining consistent with use and age. No chips cracks or restoration
