  EDITH COL. St.NICHOLAS School STROOD KENT 1887. £145  
A traditional Victorian School sampler worked in red thread on an open linen ground. Worked first with the Alphabet in both upper and lower case letters followed by the date Oct.1886 and then her name Edith Col and age 11. St.Nicholas School Strood Kent followed by the date 1887. (three lines in nearly 3 months not a quick stitch er).
At the bottom the short verse "We love him because He First Loved Us." followed by a commemoration of the Queens Jubilee of that year.
Framed in a traditional black painted readed frame measuring 26 x 33 cm.
