BERNARD LEACH INTEREST

£175

  BERNARD LEACH INTEREST £175
Very rare privately printed booklet. c.1953. 4 to 8 pp letterpress printed on handmade paper, bound in Japanese \'stab book@ style. The text is titled inside \"My Religious Faith at the Close of 1953\" and begins \" To my Friends\".

It is an explanation of Leaches acceptance of the Baha\'i faith and is signed by Leach at the end of the text in pencil, and so has very much the feeling of aprinted letter.

Has a gentle horizontal fold.

Bernard Leach was the founder of British Studio Pottery, eventually making a home in St.Ives, but was a great East-West syncretist and so Japanese style of the binding and the paper make this a very desirable object and certainly a rare thing giving an insight to the great man.
