This delightful miniature portrait watercolor depicts a lovely Young woman in her best dress. A wonderful Chintz cotton with puff sleeves. One feels the picture was painted on a particular day perhaps her birthday. I would have thought painted about 1820-40. There is considerable detail on both her dress and in particular her face and hair.
The picture itself measures 4 1/4 x 5 inch is held in a wonderful painted frame. Painted to simulate birds eye maple. The frame measures 8 x 9 inches, 20.5 x 23cm
