LORD ANSON For Ever HUZZA 1826.
Important SPODE Electioneering Jug. Lord Anson stood as a Whig with George Vernon against Sir R.Gresley in the borough of Lichfield. Quite a battle he won with 474 votes to 356. As for MP's expenses' his cost's were £4854 3s 1d including £1932 1s 10d for entertainment in 22 public houses were no doubt this jug was used.
He was "a fine fellow with an excellent disposition, liberal, hospitable, frank and gay, quick and intelligent"
