Medieval roof finials as well as Victorian examples are well documented but we can find little evidence of them between these periods. So we are particularly pleased to be able to offer this mid 18th century tin glaze example, possibly Dutch or low countries and dated 1759.
Moulded as a Pigeon it is dated to the front. Four large holes would have enabled it to be fixed to an exposed beam.
