Oh what a delightful story this mug can tell. made to commemorate the birth of John Henry on July 14 1856 . Transfer printed in green with three frogs moulded on the inside.
John Henry was the eldest son of Charles & Elizabeth a cabinet maker from Leeds, they went on to have five more children.
By 1881 John Henry had followed his father becoming a joiner before marring Elizabeth in about 1890. They had just one child Maud. He was now a picture framer in Birkdale, Yorkshire.
In 1911 he is listed as Picture Framer & Dealer in Curios & Antiques / own account / at home
