IINTERESTING DONYATT PUZZEL JUG

£SOLD

  IINTERESTING DONYATT PUZZEL JUG £SOLD
An interesting 19th Century small slipware puzzle jug of typical Donyatt form. With a typical drinking verse around the top Fill Me With Licer Swet, From it Good When Friends Do Met ! Below are elaborate flowering plants in pots.
Now the feather edging to the written word , is unusual, the pot is signed with the initials JB but what I find more unusual is the flecked amber glaze over a red/brown clay body has none of the usual copper green in it. Giving it an almost North Devon appearance.
Only 14 cm in height.
Restoration to spout and associated rim area.
