North Devon (Barnstaple) 17th Century Slipware Tile Dated 1708 with the Initials of the Maker NL for Nathanial Leachland.
interestingly almost identical tiles were produced by other Barnstable potters notably Thomas Wickey , with dates varying from 1684
These tiles can still be found in many North Devon churches.
