RARE SALTGLAZE KNIFE HANDLE

£SOLD

  RARE SALTGLAZE KNIFE HANDLE £SOLD

The seed pattern was possibly the most popular of the Mid 18th century saltglaze dinner wares, that said I personally have never seen the matching cutlery.

Although only the knife the handle is a wonderfully moulded with the seed pattern and scroll knob to the end. The blade marked with the Royal ! makers mark of GR below a crown and the initial IEP RIS

Total length10 1/2 inches 26.5 cm.

Condition blade fine, the handle appears to be cracked twice and closely glued.
