Sometimes its not the great and wonderful that are the most interesting and appealing , like this child's mug for Joshua Davenport from Congleton in Cheshire, having a descriptive line in the form of a rebus. (I personally don't think I have ever seen a rebus on a piece of English pottery , common on French creamware ).
