A delightful and charming 19th century carved scrimshaw knife handle taking the form of a South Atlantic Penguin.
Carved from a single baby whale tooth it measures only 7.3 cm tall.
The base with a slot for the blade to be held and pinned. There is some filler in the base to enable it to stand upright. |
