A collection of small London Mortlake, Kishere Highwaymen Jugs, circa 1820. Sometimes listed as measures but clearly not, they are not a standard shape or size, the largest here is only 14.5 cm (they do come larger) smallest is 7 cm. I personally think they demonstrate the potter having fun with legend of Dick Turpin,whose fictionalised exploits first began to appear around the turn of the 19th century.
