  RARE GILT DECORATED CREAMWARE £245  
Rare late 18th century Creamware jug, decorated with a yellow/ deep cream slip with additional decoration of a rural sean in gilt and black. Produced circa 1790 in Staffordshire or more likely Newcastle it is a very rare example to survive with the low temperature gilt decoration.. On the back of the jug a floral panel that would have contained possibly the owners name and date. It would appear that it was never filled it Additional decoration to spout, handle and a border rim.

Height 6 1/4 inch, 16 cm, Length from spout to handle 6 1/2 inches 16.5 cm.

Condition. As you would expect rubbing to gilt decoration resulting in some loss to picture. Minor chip to spout, and rim. Rubbing to handle. larger chips to foot rim, some of this is glazed so some chipping occured pre firing.
