  RARE YELLOW WARE "UNCLE TOM CABIN" 1853. £345  
Well known is the Ridgway & Abington pottery relief molded jug depicting a scene of Slave Selling with an Auctioneer on a Rostrum to which is attached a notice inscribed 'By Auction This Day. A Prime Lot of Healthy Negroes'. The reverse with a scene of the Escape of Eliza from Uncle Tom's Cabin. The handle surmounted by a Negro Boy praying. and dated January 1st 1853. But what I have not seen before is a "Yellow ware " copy of the same jug, taller at 22 cm, the Ridgway jug is 16. cm.
