  MARTHA FERRIDAY 1803 £SOLD  
Samplers formed an important part of a girls primarily needlework education but occasionally they cross over into other subjects as in this case Martha was learning "THE CHIEF COUNTRIES OF EUROPE and "THEIR CAPITALS".
These crossover subject samplers are very rare.
Martha was born 1797 in the village of Wombridge Shropshire, She married Henry Mason, they had one son Alphonza Francis, she died aged 57 in 1854.
Framed in a later oak frame with gilt slip, measuring 30.5 x 30.7 cm.
Some holes, good colour.
