HUSSAR CAVALRYMAN at THE BATTLE OF WATERLOO, 1815

£595

HUSSAR CAVALRYMAN at THE BATTLE OF WATERLOO, 1815 £595
What an tantalising watercolour of a hussar Cavalryman leaning on a tree stump. That stump the “Waterloo Elm” the very tree his commanding officer Wellington stood under during the great battle of Waterloo. To think he was there and survived, I think still more people died in that square mile than at any over battle ?. And he like todays selfie’s wanted to record it, I just wish I could read his name on the back.
At the base of the tree the ate 1815.
Original frame measuring 19 x 26.5 cm
