Possibly the best large Verwood jug we have had, off traditional shape with a personal touch. Although not clear from the pictures there is a green round mark on the handle and associated sort of shadow to the handle that corresponds to a potter with dirty hand and thumb picking the jug up and in so doing leaving a personal mark in the glaze.
Height 32.5 cm.
Small chip to front footrim where it has been putdown too hard. |
