Miss MARY ROSE JOHNSON 1810 signed

£245

Miss MARY ROSE JOHNSON 1810 signed £245
A classic early 19th century portrait of a young woman, standing holding a letter and hankie chief over her arm.
Inscribed on the back Mary Rose Johnson, Painted by M. Doland 1810. Now we may know nothing about these people. (hopefully research may turn up some information) one can infer a story.... Mary is of an age , that she would either be a young bride or had a suiter possibly away in the Army fighting Bonaparte in Spain and France, she has been hoping for news, the letter, the hankie for tears but he has not died , she is in blue not black. So lets hope just injured and on his return.
Retains its original frame measuring
