A classic early 19th century darning sampler by JEMIMA SOWTER dated 1807.
Worked with a central bouquet of flowers in a variety of stitches with eight darning crosses around, all within a meandering floral border.
Signed at the bottom Jemima Sowter and dated 1807.
Jemima was probably from Suffolk.
Retaining its original carved fruitwood frame measuring 39 cm square.
