  1798 DATED MINERS ARMS JUG £785 reserved  
Rare late 18th century dated pearlware jug. dated to the front 1798 and with the initials 'RH' . On one side we have the Miners or Well diggers arms with the tools of the trade, picks shovels rake and wooden tray. On the other side a rare view of a well shaft being worked or dug with a man turning the rope and a cart in the back ground. The top of the jug with a deep crimson band.
Restoration to handle and chip to spout.

English pearlware, probably either Staffordshire or Yorkshire. circa 1798.

Height 7 3/3 inches; high 19.5 cm.

Condition. minor rubbing to sides with a little chipping to painted surface and scratches. some very minor flaking to marron band. Chip to side of spout and crack running down the side of the crack 1 1/2 inches. No restoration.
