Rare mid 18th Century Silver mounted saltglaze tankard. The Bown and baeige tankard with turned decoration is typical of the first half of the 18th Century. The Moulded silver lid is set with a gilt coin surrounded by pricked initials and the date 1749. Scroll acanthus thumbpiece.
Indecipherable makers mark.
Probably Danish or German. |
