SARAH WINDSOR 1846 ROUEN FRANCE.
We have perhaps seen three samplers , one by Josepha Heath Culston (from Wales) worked in 1823 and this by SARAH WINDSOR Aged 8 years 1846. A very English sampler worked with a central image of an English Windmill.
We can at this moment only speculate that they were both worked at the same English School in the French town.
Framed in a maple frame measuring 19 1/2 x 22 inches.
Condition some discolouration. |
