RARE & IMPORTANT EARLY LEAD WOOL WEIGHT

£650

RARE & IMPORTANT EARLY LEAD WOOL WEIGHT £650
It is impossible to work out if the initials at the top of this weight are for George I or Charles I, it does conform quite closely to another in Bronze by Henry Aldridge & Son, although the GR appear smaller to this example and lead weights are generally accepted as being earlier !.
Shield shaped with hole for carrying Royal Coat of Arms, now just under 7LB. in weight.
Probably George I 1714-27
