A remarkable large 18th century sampler, depicting at the bottom a wonderful rural image of a young woman walking towards her home smelling a flower. presumably given to her by the young man in the corner.
Across the top half traditional alphabets in different styles. The central panel in the middle having a short verse and the sewers details Wrought by Sarah Kendell in the year of our Lord 1770.
Original frame and in untouched condition . Size 50 x 72 cm. |
