THE WARRENTED WINCHESTER MEASURE, circa 1830.
A very rare and unusual form, Usually in an earthenware pearlware body often attributed to Fell although other makers made them I have not come across a solid blue body nor a loving cup containing a blue frog.
Interestingly as a measure it don't work, one would expect 1/2 pint , without the frog but in fact measure 12 fl.oz with the frog so although clearly marked as a measure it would appear to be purely decorative I cant imagine the landlord giving away free beer.

Condition good rubbing to gilt lines and some staining. |
