EDITH JANE GILBERT 1894 ASHFORD

£195

EDITH JANE GILBERT 1894 ASHFORD £195
One can only wonder what the teacher thought of Edith's Sampler with her "S" stitched backwards, was she dyslexic !. She gives her School as S.E.R Girls School which we understand was for SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY, New Town Ashford
Some confusion on her age the sampler giving 1882 +/- but some Census records give it as 1880. It would appear she was the daughter of Henry An Agricultural labor living in the Old Work House Cottages, Westwell . She married Robert John Smith a domestic gardener.
