A rare and unusual jug depicting COCK FIGHTING SCENES features six polychrome images of a pair of cockerels fighting. Each image has a separate title and position: A Set, A Knock Down Blow, A Rally, Heeling, The Death. One of the titles is not clearly visible. The pitcher has gilt highlights around the rim, base, top and handle. A highly unusual item ideal for collectors of antique British pottery.
Height 19 cm 7 1/2 inches.
