A mid 17th century maiolica pottery tazza from Deruta Italy. The pottery tazza has wonderful profusely detailed hand decoration in the classic Deruta fashion with a deep border pattern of Arabesque grotesque figures, The central panel depicting Putto riding a dolphin. ( a classic & Renaissance motif representing Love, swiftness & the mastery of the sea).
