With so much information out there on the internet its lovely to be able to add a bit of personal history to an individuals past.
Ancestry has his baptism on 19th Oct.1794, in Seaton , Devon. His parents Elizabeth & John well known farmers. And that's it.
Well we now know he died in 1838 aged 43, and from the inscription on the back, ( worked by his widow now Mrs. Penfold )he was married.
The tiny sampler measuring only 7.5 x 10 cm is framed in its original maple wood frame measuring 13.2 x 15.6. Is worked in black silk with at the bottom a central urn flanked by two hour glasses |
